Chris,
your question made me realize I had no idea how to patch dump out of
my K3. A page (http://www.synthzone.com/lakata/kawai_k3.html) talks
about setting 45/Exclusive2 = 3, but on my K1 the parameters for that
are 0 and 1. :) After some trial-and-error, I think I have a bank
dumping proceedure you can follow:
Hit [master], then set [44/exclusive1] to 1. Hit [49/save] to store
this master config change, then [master] to leave master parameter
config mode. Set your sequencer (or sysex librarian) to receive a
SysEx dump 'manually'. You should now be able to cycle through the
entire patch bank manually by hitting [1] through [50]. Each time you
change your patch, 78 bytes of SysEx data is sent. After cycling
through all fifty patches with Cakewalk Pro audio listening for
manually dumped sysex data, I had a bank of 3900 bytes).
I believe there is a way to do a true K4 bank dump, but I'll be darned
if I can figure it out w/o documentation.
Post back here and let us know if this proceedure works for you.
Good Luck,
Ben
