while changing the battery [a hard time, with all that (unnecessary) glue and soldering that Kawai used to keep the battery firmly in place] I noticed that my OS chip is 5P36 "D" and not "G" or "I" like it is supposed to be... in fact, parameter #42 goes up to 6 and this should enable SysEx to be received (haven't tried yet); preset 49 btw is helicopter like I already said in the last email... strange... maybe it could be an "half-way" revision? velocity and aftertouch are a bit "static", but playable... I do care much for SysEx btw, some sounds are really cool, but others are so and so, and I just want to fill the 100 memories with as much useful sounds as possible... I'm gonna try the Gordon Reid hammond patch that uses #32 waveform http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec03/articles/synthsecrets.htm p.s. the K3 is a bargain! I love it
