Re: [k5synth] Digest Number 146

I just finished scan and TIFF->GIF conversion.(That's LOOOONG!).

I now have to put all the 43(!) scans(2 pages each) in an openoffice
document and save as PDF.

Then, maybe in two weeks, I will send it from someone else's computer
with high speed internet.

I tried two of the 3 PDF formats:
4MB : Unreadable
60MB : Easy to read
the other is even higher quality than the 60MB one.

Now, I don't know what to do.

I scanned 4 pages from the Syntonyx Overtone Manual. Someone can tell
if he/she want it before I continue to scan it?

I will change the currently available file for the one coming straight
out of the floppies copied to the same directory. The difference is
that ov.bat will not be modified.

The manual will be PDF, not tons of JPEGs.

I will change the file description too.

Reduced every pages to 2 colors. Now the same quality setting as the 60MB one is 6MB.

The only problem is that the GUI screenshots are a bit hard to read. This can be fixed easily by zooming a lot.

Overtone Manual

The manual is uploaded!

Sorry if I use 13% of the space! Tell me (or the moderator) if there's
a need of some more space. I could put it on Angelfire instead.

I reduced the size from 60 to 4MB by doing a couple of changes, but
now the manual is black and white. It might give you some problems
with the GUI pictures. Anyways, it's easily readable and you can print
it @ 300dpi.

You will have original size pictures if you don't resize them in Adobe
Reader. There's enough white border for this. The text is easy to read
even with 2 pages per sheet as the original manual was like this.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
