That sounds similar to a problem I was experiencing last night. Whenever
you create an HFE file with the HxC software, check the file size. If it's
spitting out unusually small files shut it down, restart, and try again.
This can also occur when doing a batch convert and the HxC software
behaves as if everything is normal. But of course the EII will not load
the files. Restarting the software has fixed the problem for me.
