Is there a way I can get copies of the CDROMS that are used with the omni CD players? I have 1 but would like to get the other two. Heath

I am not sure but i heard that they have a quite fancy format from the earliest times of cd roms... Some others on the list probably know about it, or already did it somehow... This CD rom Libary is defenetly more rare then the EII. I once lend it and copyed quite a bunch of them...but far from complete.. Its not everything good on there but in some banks there are hidden parts of samples that can be somhow cool.. Its no mistake to have it complete. I wonder if there was other third party libaries that worked with the cd rom drive??? Are the 3 north?? production CD´s the only ones that were produced for the rom drive? Hi,
OMI made 3 CDROM's for the EII, the third was produced for Northstar. They
were the first sample CDROM's on the planet. They also made 2 for the Emax 1,
and went on to create Emax II, Akai and E3 CDROM's. They are still around
but called QupArts (www.quparts.com). You may still be able to get Volume 1
and 2 from QUpArts. Volume 3 is extinct. The Emax and EII sample CDROM's
have a unique format which includes some OS software to drive the CDROM.
I have a spare Volume 1 for sale (new from QUpArts). I may also have Volume
2 somewhere. I also have the OMI samples in SD for EII format, for those
whose CDROM drives have boken, there is still a way of using the sample.
Overall the samples are very high quality and still usable. The first 2
volumes were contributed by professional Emulator II players across the USA
in 1986-87, in the days when there were Emulator II clubs....for sharing
samples.
Contact me at info@... , if you are after these samples
CDROM's.
