sampling gain knob problem

sampling gain knob problem

2012-03-15 by James Ulibarri

My sampling gain knob is messed up.  First thing is that it's scratchy...  Use a little Doxit, I know.
Second thing is that it actually is somehow controlling the main output level when I turn it.
The Sampler module is not even activated and when I turn the sampling gain knob, it is
attenuating the main out volume level.   Which is really weird.  It's also backwards in the direction
that the main volume works.  So at it's lowest setting (normally for sampling), it is actually the loudest for my main volume.  And then when you turn it fully counter-clockwise to the beginning it actually gets real scratchy and fully cuts out the full output from the main out.  It's really weird.   I wonder if I
connected something wrong the last time I had the cover off about two weeks ago to trouble shoot
a S3528 chip.  Both the volume and the sampling gain knob are controlling my output.  I don't see anything wrong with in the way
I reconnected everything.    It's no big deal if I have to replace the pot, but would it be effecting the main output like this?
Does that sound normal?  Any ideas?

rookie move... I flipped the pot connectors on the digital board.
I had them backwards. It's back. Gawd, that's my last post for a while. My fault
