Nice sounds sometimes, and a few from the original librarys that i could hear. Nice try But too bad ! you cannot sample, or import your own samples or emu II samples in the more usual emu II formats.

I really don’t think I’m gonna sell my emu II because of this ! lol.

I’d love a pro one as a friend for my emu II, but I can’t find it at a decent price. Even a damaged one if somebody may have it ? or parts so I rebuild one completely ?

Also, I really can’t find a virtual arpegiator that would work the way the pro one works, with its arpegiator : on the pro one it’s so simple ! manual ! you just enter notes, it plays this non stop, and changes the height of the note when you just press a new key, so 80’ !!! do you see what I mean ?

Did anybody find a simple stuff that would work the same, until I may get a real pro one ?

Good example here :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BmcHMA-rFCQ#t=125s

I’d thank you so much if you’d help me finding this. But virtual stuffs are so complicate and limited, and they don217;t offer fun. These features are all I’d need ! and my emu would appreciate I think.

Thanks,

Adrien

Re: Emulator II Plug-In

I gave an insight on the other EII forum. In a nutshell, it's a rompler of 80's sounds with some real time controls and effects including bit crusher which is great. Library is about 200 sounds or so from a variety of 80's synths including EII - I counted about 30 I instantly recognised, good quality too.

Easy way to access some of the library, good sounds overall, nice interface and range of effects available. Drumulation is good too. But pricey though and it doesn't 'sample' although you can import WAV's into the UVI workstation part.

RE: [emulatorII-list] Re: Emulator II Plug-In

This is perhaps a first version. With feedbacks from the users, they may perhaps add a sampling option, and the possibility to use the original emu II library or files made with a real emu II ? who knows …

But for now that’s a pity, and I don’t think it sounds the way a real emu sounds.

Re: Emulator II Plug-In

I agree. Associating it to a famous sampler and not actually offering sampling is a big mistake.

I'll check the number of sounds but think it is just over 200 (not big enough). At least 30 I recognised as EII library sounds (EMU factory library). The low number of sounds and lack of sampling I've already fed back to UVI.

It isn't an EII substitute at all but does offer some modern features to EII and the other 80's synth sounds. Nice to have on the side. ;)

Re: [emulatorII-list] Re: Emulator II Plug-In

2012-02-09 by James Ulibarri

I was interested in the product. But then I realized that to have the best of both worlds is to sample my EII and create wave files, and run the samples in Kontakt and Ableton's Simpler and Sampler. Sounds amazing. I sometimes record pads to my Revox analog cassette deck that I just picked up also. And the natural tape compression and a little hiss makes the warmest pads and drones. I think the hybrid setup makes some interesting textures that I would not be able to do using the EII by it's self, and not possible using any soft synths. The audio damage plugins and a few other secret weapons are really are cool. Then if you pipe the results from your sound card interface to an analog compressor you really can burn up a whole weekend from friday night, to early morning monday morning with very little rest.

The only way I would get that EII plugin is to sample it to my EII. And then back again.

Sample the sampler.

Nice to have on the side. ;)

Maybe... I've thought similar things. If anyone plunges on it, feedback what you think as will get this back to them if get a further opportunity.

You'll never beat the hardware IMO but sure this will only boost the EII profile.

It's was just an experiment. I do not like the sound of the computer.

the computer for audio. For the past 24 hours I have been sampling the EII with EIII. Good fun. Sorry for the extra post. I just wanted to clear that up.
