Yes, the HxC software can read the .EII files (=SoundDesigner for Emu-II banks) and convert them into .HFE files. It needs an overlay file for that, which should contain the operating system. These overlay files can be downloaded from http://www.emxp.net
The overlay file must be stored in the same folder on the *pc* as the one containing the .EII files. The HxC software will read the overlay file, merge it with the .EII file, and then generate the .HFE file.
EII files directly saved to the SD card will not be recognized by the HxC (resulting in error "bad file"). All files on the SD card should be .HFE files generated by the HxC software (except for folders and teh configuration file of course :-)
One last note: the reverse operation is not supported: the HxC software is NOT able to convert .HFE files into .EII files. It *can* convert them into raw image files, but these are bigger than the .EII files because they contain also the OS. The next version of EMXP will support these raw images in both directions.
