Midi Supermode ????

Midi Supermode ????

2001-05-26 by 3phase@3phase.de

What the hell is the Supermode doing. Cant figure it out on my E II
maybe it dont works by a hardware problem ???
was ther ever some kind of multimode implemented to the E II.
means a way to play different presets simultanious via midi as the
internal seq is able to do, why not via midi ???
any information ???
thank you

Hi,

Here is how it works...

Rob

The Emulator Archive
www.emulatorarchive.com

Sub-module:	SEQUENCER DEFINE 4

Function:	SUPERMODE

This function allows the E2 to receive MIDI Information over 8 dIfferent
channels, and sound them through 8 dIfferent presets simultaneously! To use
Supermode, you must first create a Supermode map which routes the MIDI
channels to specific presets.

To create the Supermode map:

1. Define a new sequence and record a short, blank sequence of any length
(don\ufffdt play any notes). Each track you record listens to 2 MID! channels.
Track 1 listens to MID! channels 1 and 9, track 2 listens to channels 2 and
10, track 3 to channels 3 and 11, and so on. Repeat the blank recording
process on any track whose MIDI channels you wish to use.

2. Activate the EDIT module and select 5 (REASSIGN PRESET). Assign each
track to the desired preset. You now have a Supermode map that you can copy
to other sequencer locations. By simply changing sequences, you can call up
a new map!

To use the Supermode map:

3. Check that the E2\ufffds MIDI IN connects to the external sequencer\ufffds MIDI
OUT.

4. Make sure that the current preset is in OMNI mode (PRESET DEFINITION 30)
and turn it\ufffds sequencer START/STOP setting to off.

5. Activate the DEFINE module and select 4. The display says:	Supermode:NO
Press Y/N

Press ON to enable Supermode. The E2 will now respond to multiple MIDI
channels and route them to the preset specified In the Supermode map.
Supermode is only active while the E2 sequencer module is active.

Notes on E2 Supermode.

Supermode is off when the E2 Sequencer is running.
Realtime controller data Is not received over Supermode. Sending realtime
controller data to the E2 while in Supermode will slow the MIDI response by
clogging the MIDI input.
While In Supermode; Sustain Information on any MlDl channel will affect the
Current Preset.
While in Supermode on Hard Disk units; MIDI Preset Change commands 53-99 on
any MIDI channel will cause a Hard Disk bank to be loaded unless Preset
Change (in the Current Preset MIDI menu) is set to OFF.

SUPEERMODE MAP EXAMPLE
	E2 PRESETS 05	01	02	10	06	21	15	04
	E2 TRACKS 1	2	3	4	5	6	7	8
	MIDI CHANNELS	1	2	3	4	5	6	7	8
