PLEASE: can someone help me with setup plans!!!

PLEASE: can someone help me with setup plans!!!

2003-06-16 by the_emulatorii

i am planing to use all of my emu equipment in a seperate computer-
environment - meaning, that i want to connect my emulato2 and my
sp12turbo with a macintosh computer (only for editing and storing)

i have a seperate computer for the sequencer-program ect. (which is
a PC running cubase) the mac is entirely supposed to controll the
emu´s and make life easier :-)

the mac i own is a "performa 475" and i also have a midi-interface
for.

i want to control the sp12 and the emulator via cubase in terms of
midi and use the mac for editing them and storing samples+data!

is this somehow possible - how is the best way to do it???
will i need different programs for sp12 and emulator or does SD have
all the functions i need???
does anyone have experiences with a similar setup???

i´d be thankfull for any infos - cheers - simon

Hi,
Use SD for EII for the EII (over RS422) and Waters Edge Software SP-12
Librarian for the SP-12 (over MIDI). These will run on a legacy Mac or
PowerBook (5300C is cool). They will not do sequencing!

Use a modern sequencer (Cubase SX?) for songs...could be ModernMac or PC.

The EII is configured with MIDI for sequencing and RS422 for sample
transfer.
The SP-12 needs MIDI for both so use a patchbay or MIDI merge.
