Does anyone have a new old stock EII front panel label or the wheel label? Or how about a top cover of a gutted EII that's being parted out? Someone has to have this stuff right.
2010-06-23 by elmbeatz
I have a complete EII shell, including both labels of course. That one belonged to Alan Wilder once (I was told). Now it's your turn to bet: 1) I will give it away. 2) I won't give it away, never ever and NEVER EVER. ;) Sorry for you, buddy.. but I think there'll be a solution. If I was you, I would try to make a template (maybe in Illustrator or freehand, or corel... ) and then find a shop that can plot/print it for you. can't be that hard..

I was quoting the Terrance and Phillip cartoon on Southpark. Not sure what episode. They say "buddy" and "guy" a lot. "Don't call me buddy, guy." Stupid shit like that. I wasn't beefing with Elm. I know he's proud of his Alan Wilder case. More power to him. He's on the EIIIforum also. I think there might be a break down in language translation too with him. It's no big deal. It's water off a duck's back. No harm, no foul. I'm still looking for a case or decal set! I figure i've put out enough feelers at this point. I say something will show up in a year or less. I just need to chill. And if you saw my labels you would think that I'm being pretty knit-picky. It's just that the clear coat is coming off the front panel decal on one side. And on the wheel sticker, I messed it up a little by peeling it up and half the paint stayed on the unit. I just want everything perfect I guess. --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, Cristea Eusebiu <pcoxe2002@...> wrote: > > Â Is not the first time when Elm is disrespectful to the others. I made the suggestion to make a template of the decals and then let somebody print it, and I'm serious on that suggestion. I didn't and don't want to be disrespectful to anybody, in no way. I'm glad that James did't get me wrong on my post. If I had the time do make these templates, I would already have done that job, and any forum member could use these templates for free. In fact I hope that I find some time to do that. That Alan wilder thing - well, to me it means something, nevermind.

Elm, I just called Alan on the phone a couple hours ago and he said the two EII's he had (one purchased by Daniel Miller) are still with him. He gave one to Andy Fletcher, but he didn't know what to do with it, since he doesn't know how to play. Andy just stands there and pretends to play, but really doesn't do jack shit. You know, Depeche would have been a completely different band if Alan had stayed and Andy left. No one would have missed Fletch. No one would have cared or missed that guy. He's a real turd in the punch bowl. --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "elmbeatz" <elmbeatz@...> wrote: > > I made the suggestion to make a template of the decals and then let somebody print it, and I'm serious on that suggestion. "You know, Depeche would have been a completely different band if Alan had stayed..." Yes, absolutely! I totally lost interest in their music since he left. They were my absolute favourite band before. Well, the music will live on anyway. "Elm, I just called Alan on the phone a couple hours ago and he said the two EII's he had (one purchased by Daniel Miller) are still with him." WOW - you know him personally?! Now that's cool! I purchased this EII shell some years ago (for a steal), and the seller (not knowing at all that I was into that depeche mode thing) told that it belonged to a studio that once lent it to Depeche, when one of their EIIs failed on tour. IF this is really true? - I don't know. Maybe you could ask him again about this - perhaps he can recall... That should have been in Germany by the way... Greetings, Elm. By the way - I've just started sorting out the fonts E-mu used for the labels. I will do a scan of the EII shell's labels today as the "template's template"...

No, bro. I am just playing with you. I don't know Alan personally. But it's an unlikely story about your case being owned by Alan Wilder. :] God's honest truth though, my power supply says checked by DM with a Sharpie magic marker. I can take a picture of it and post it. But I think it's the technician's initials. His name could have been Dirk Martin, or David Martinez, or Dan Mitchel, or a million other name combinations. But I am not assuming it's in any relation to Depeche Mode... Come on now. Silly. --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "elmbeatz" <elmbeatz@...> wrote: > > "You know, Depeche would have been a completely different band if Alan had stayed..." > > Yes, absolutely! Well, actually I neither REALLY believe that story of my EII shell. BUT, as the seller absolutely had no idea of my "DM passion" at that time, I just found it pretty cool. Yesterday, I made high-res scans of both EII labels. Next step would be to make REAL templates containing paths and real font data. That will be a hard job, and I hope to find the time to do that. But I got hooked on that label thing ;) Once that is done, it should be pretty easy to replicate those labels. Greetings, Elm.

Hi Elm, Thank you for your efforts for doing this. I'm also intersted in getting this layout in Corel or any other vector format. Cool. I believe I have traded my EII. It's the 3rd one I have owned and I can never get them to work right. Of course james! But - I have a lot of work at the moment... so I haven't had the time to convert the scans.. I could provide the High-Res Scans, if there's any need for those? greetz, Elm.

Yes, I can. On monday. Have you got some kind of account where to upload to? The scans have 300 dpi in resolution, so they're quite big. Best, Elm.

Elmer was the one who did them. I had a company design one and they sent me their prototype. And it was seriously sad. That project would be very laborious and time consuming. But when you have a chewed up label, you don't have much choice.
