burning EPROMS???

burning EPROMS???

2003-04-30 by the_emulatorii

hey here is the new topic!

someone is offering me a commodore c64 with some strange device for
burning eproms (at least he thinks it is for doing that...)
it is some sort of cartrige with a flat cable ending in a IC-socket
and it is called "formel-64"

questions:

1: can i burn my own eproms with this device (like oberheim prommer)?

2: do i have to buy the c64 or is there a similar device for my pc??

3: which specifications does a eprom burner for "our" purposes need?

4: do you recomend making own eproms and using them in sp12´s and
drumulator´s or should i leave my fingers well away???

5: are there differences between drumulator, sp12, DMX, DrumTracks
eproms?

thanx in advance, rob!!!!!!!!!

best regards, simon

New Topic

2003-04-30 by Thomas Mattera

Here is a new topic. I recently bought an Emulator IV Classic from an Ebay auction. The backlite is out as are some segments of the display. I was wondering if someone had a spec for the display or knew of a place where I can get a new one? Thanks, Tom

Hi Greg

The max ram for the EII is 1 Mb devided into 2 banks of 512 kb. The EIII can access 8 Mb in either 256 kb blocks or 1 mb blocks. I sure that the memory chip is not the same.

Best regards

Brian

Simon
I have an Eprom burner and I have used it for sometime but I have never heard of this C64 setup. It would have to allow for many different types and sizes of Eproms and most likely this would have to be done through software.

Re: [emulatorII-list] best deal on 4megs of ram for my Emulator III

Hi Greg

In order to upgrade your EIII you need the upgrade kit 6084 or 6085 (Emu-systems do not sell these kits anymore) along with the 30 pin sim ram..

You could gather some usefull information at www.emulatorarchive.com.

I have asked Rob at www.emulatorarchive.com if he could remake the memory kit for the EIII but unfortunately he is too busy and the kit would be expensive. I still hope that the kit will be remade some day soon.

As for upgrading the EII I will suggest that you also check the great link above.

Best regards to you

Brian
