EII + HD Vacuum florecent display modification Question

I have an EII + HD with a failing display, I have seen other synths that had the LCD display replaced with a VFD display and the synths always look really cool. Has anyone on this list replaced the display in the EII with a VFD display? I hope to do this soon and I plan to photo document this procedure, I would love to hear from anyone else on this list that has performed this modification. Can the EII receive midi sequencing information while connected to a Macintosh? I have not tried this yet but I would like to know if it has been done? Kevin Kelley
