scratchy voice on EII

scratchy voice on EII

2008-12-22 by Simon_Owen

Hi everyone

Just noticed a problem that's just popped up on my EII. When playing a sound, sometimes,
and usually after every 4th keypress, the sound sometimes distinctively louder and scratchy
for that one keypress. This has only recently started to happen.

Now, my studio is at the top of my garden, in an converted shed. At this time of year, you
can imagine that the temperature is a bit cold. Would this have anything to do with it.

Any ideas or suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon, can't confirm if this is your problem, but would advise that
if you're keeping any electronic equipment in a cold converted shed
you should keep the background temperature at a reasonable level. The
cold and any build up of condensation will play havoc with your PCB's
and/or external metal components.

The cold may have accelerated the failure, but is probably not the
cause. Does the problem disappear after considerable warm up or if you
heat the shed?
