Southern California Synth Repair Tech

Southern California Synth Repair Tech

2008-11-25 by George

Sure thing:

His name is Dave Shuman and is located in downtown San Diego, CA. By
trade, he's an Intellectual Property Attourney with a biochemistry
background, but loves to fix synths and other music gear on the side
for fun. (LOL)
He's a suuuuupernice guy. He had never seen an Emulator before until
I brought him mine. When we opened the unit up, he seemed instantly
familiarized with the components and their circuits. I dropped of the
unit on Sunday at around 7pm and left shortly after. At around
10.30pm I had received an email that the thing was fixed and put back
together. As I mentioned, he even reflowed ALL solder joints on the
PSU and other critical components. That's what I call a quick
turnaround. He's got a little repair shop going on in his apartment.
Don't hesitate to call him if you're in the Southern California area.
I will bring him all my other old synths from now one if anything
goes south.

Anyways, here is his email address:

davidshuman@...

Cheers
George

P.S. Elm, Yes, I am German/Portuguese, grew up there, but live in the
USA since 1999.
