Voice Problem Update. Heeelp!

Hi Guys, Here's an update to my voice problem. Today I cleaned/ reseated every single chip on the problem channel #7 plus every single IC on the digital board. I also took the keyboard apart and gave the contact board a good cleaning as well. Then came the big drumroll at power up: But now it freezes up on startup as follows: At power-up both drives flash and the display says "Insert Diskette" as usual. But when I insert a sound diskette, the EII now freezes up. And it seems that I get a different display readings depending on the sounddisk that I put in the drive. So far I got these error messages with a freeze-up: Emulator 2*** No 2Ware. Rev. 3.1 The drive stops and the machine does not respond to any buttons whatsoever. Another variation I got was: Insert Diskette Software Rev. 3.1 and freezes up. I have the boot chip v.2.1 installed. At least the sticker on the chip says so. The sounddisks that came with the EII were made with different OS versions as stated on the disk labels. Some are in V1.8 some in various versions of 2.x and then there is one disk that says EMU Software V.3.0. I tried to put all these disks in but the machine continues to freeze up. Before the cleaning/chip reseating the EII would at least load all these diskettes aside from the voice problem. Why does my EII ask for Software 3.1 when the boot rom I have installed is V2.1? And why is it freezing up now? Can anyone shed light on this? I hope I didn't mess anything up during the cleaning. I wore a grounding-bracelet throughout the procedure and used an IC-Extractor tool and was super-mega careful. I used Isopropyl Alcohol with q-tips. FYI: I have an EII+ (inside), dual memory banks, 2 x 5.25" drives but with the classic lettering on the exterior. I'm getting really frustrated. Anyone? George
