I have an unused copy of OMI Vol.2 cd-rom which came with my EII and it would be great to flesh out the blanks in my Emulator Archive collection. Obviously anyone with the relevant equipment who is willing to undergo the task will get the whole collection (and the disk) too. As long as it doesn't upset anyone, I have no problem sharing with the whole group as well. Reply if you're interested. Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin,
I have an EII+HD , bought last year. Was a dream to me to have this type of synth-sampler.Since I have bought it, I just have checked if everything ok with, and then after I have started to renovate my flat, bought in the same period of time. Until now I didn't realy had the time to work and learn this magnific ,, dream machine''. So, I can say that i am quite new Iam interested in this,, stuff'' , in this copy ,OMI, but I really don't know whai it is, and how to work wiyh, or use it. Everything I know is this: My E-MU works graeat, HD, floppy,BUT I didn't got almost any sample for it, just one with a few,, insignifiant'' sounds, and a set of ten original unopened floppy's 5,25''. That's all... nothing more....any suggestion? Thx in advance, and... your name , Martin is famous. I remember ,, Martin Gore'' which was working with the EII so hard .
Regards, Mike , Oslo, Norway.

I would like to know, if the cd rom is accessible with a "modern" personal computer setup and drive. Or if you need the original omi cd rom diskdrive. which ir rare.

No, it doesn't show up in a computer. You need the old CDS3 set-up. Anyway, I have since found that Quparts are still selling the OMI libraries on cd so I'll be buying it from them. If anyone has the CDS3 and would like to buy my OMI vol.2 please get in touch. Beware that Q Up Arts does NOT sell the library in EII format but ONLY in OMI format (you NEED the CDS3 in order to use them). I have had conversations with Douglas Morton (the guy creating the OMI library) and we are currently considering converting OMI vol. 1 and vol. 2 to Kontakt 3 files, but lets see how it goes. I would guess that these CDS3 cdroms are in fact "readable" on a PC, on condition that there would be a small software program which can extract the EII soundbanks from a raw image of those cdroms. It's just a wild guess, but if I would have a raw image of such a cdrom, I could have a look into it and try to make such a little program. On the other hand... it's not difficult at all to get the OMI banks in SDforEII format via the internet. What I mean is: the translation of the CDS3 cdroms to "normal" cdroms has already been done by other people before. ///E-Synthesist --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "Kenneth Abildgaard | OIIO" <kenneth@...> wrote: > > Beware that Q Up Arts does NOT sell the library in EII format but ONLY in > OMI format (you NEED the CDS3 in order to use them). > > > > I have had conversations with Douglas Morton (the guy creating the OMI > library) and we are currently considering converting OMI vol. 1 and vol. 2 > to Kontakt 3 files, but let's see how it goes. > > > > Kenneth Abildgaard > > 12bit.com > > > > Fra: emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com > [mailto:emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com] På vegne af martin dubka > Sendt: 6. juni 2008 21:08 > Til: emulatorii-list@yahoogroups.com > Emne: RE: [emulatorII-list] Re: Anyone interested in converting OMI 2 into > .EII format? > > > > > No, it doesn't show up in a computer. Sure has been done before but I believe Doug wants to make an official translation at some point. And who can blame him. This library is marvelous. Does anyone know where I can get this OMI library from? I do not have an emulator II so I was hoping that someone has translated into a format that is workable on a PC. Also, if anyone is interested in sample swaps for SP-12 (factory library & K-Muse libraries - can also do on SP-1200) or Emax (most of factory library) please get in touch. Thanks Al

Hi! Is the SP-12 Library you're talking of available in SP-12 Librarian (Mac) Format, or do you just have disks? Greetz, Elm.

Does anyone have SP12 Librarian they want to share or is it buy-ware ? No - I just have disks which I would have to copy and mail to you. --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "elmbeatz" <elmbeatz@...> wrote:

I don't have a diskdrive. I save all data to mac with the librarian. takes less time you know - a whole turbo bank in 2 minutes. Greetz, Elm.

Please move this conversation concerning the SP-12 and private sample trades off-list...It does not concern the Emulator-II. PS: This list reaches over 250 members. In the future, any off-topic posts should be clearly marked with the "OT:" subject line prefix. Thanks, -hex
