Selling an Emulator...

Selling an Emulator...

2008-05-14 by treplacements90

Hello, I know it would be kind of rare for someone wanting to do this,
but is anyone in the market to be selling the Emulator?? I have a
Sequential Prophet 2002 and a Mirage, but have been really lusting for
an Emulator of late...Watching New Order perform "Blue Monday" from Top
of the pops just reliterated that feeling...I actually wouldn't even
care if it wasn't working, hell just even the shell I'd pay for...I've
been fascinated with the machine for ages, and wish I could set eyes
and own one for once...I'd be willing to pay a good amount $$ and
shipping from out of country is no big deal...Im in the United
States...So anyone if interested, it would be going to a good
home...please let me know, thanks -Lee

Are you looking for the E1 or EII?

Just curious, I'd never sell mine ;)

But you should find one on ebay...

Don’t forget that the Emulator doesn’t say anything by itself.

I am just warning you before you buy one because you think it sounds like
Blue Monday. (By the way; the Blue Monday choir sample is a
Kraftwerksample).

I have an Emulator and an Emulator II+ and I love them both to death by the
way J

Emulatior Sample History

2008-05-14 by rob

Hi
The Emulator I sample library includes a wide range of samples taken via
Sony PCM F1, including the Optigan/Orchestron. Probaby some of the Orch
samples. E-mu Systems people, often recorded local sound sources and
instruments people had. About 200 sample diskettes were made. The Emulator
is so hard to use that very few users could get a professional sample bank,
and E-mu Systems had some cool UNIX computers to help them get good samples.
The Ochestron was launched in 1975 and the orchestral sounds were quite an
easy way to get "orch" samples...

The Emulator II library was recorded on a more professional basis with
recording studio sessions, especially for the orchestral samples. Some
Emulator samples made it into the EII library (loon garden), but I doubt any
old Orchestron samples made the grade. This was a new and expensive libraray
- eg Arco Strings.

The Blue Monday EII samples are E-mu Systems factory samples, there is no
evidence of Kraftwerk using EII's and passing samples around in Europe to
other bands.
They did use Ochestrons in 1975

Re: [emulatorII-list] Emulatior Sample History

2008-05-18 by Sean Wolcott

Hello....

I am not only a proud Emu 2 owner, but also and Optigan owner too.

The Blue Monday / Kraftwerk sound is indeed sampled from a Vako
Orchestron's Choir disc.
I have a disc for my Optigan, a very rare one called Vox Humana... its
the same sound as the Orchestron Choir disc.

Indeed, the sound quality on the Optigan/Orchestron is crap, but thats
what makes it cool. But of course, this lo-fi charm was sub par when
the Emu libraries were being created.

Re: [emulatorII-list] Re: Selling an Emulator...

Hi dear Chrz Zom,
I still have it, but unfortunately not for sale. Somebody else asked me too if I want selling it, but I really wish to keep it, because I have searched a lot, maybe two years in finding one. I found it here in Oslo, Norway in june 2007, and bought it. And in the same period of time was another guy here in Oslo and he sold an EII with a single floppy model, at $1000.
My model, according to Rob, is produced late 1987, the hard disk and everything works.I didn't got the sounds, just 3-4! I will send couple of disks to JMP , he is a great guy and helps a lot too, and finally I will make seme music with it. I didn't have the time in working with until now, I had to fix my flat bought last year, that took a lot of work to make it fine. Sorry , I wish you good luck. FOR SURE you will find one to buy and you will get huge support from all this great guys in EII group. Respect for all, the team is incredible. Veeeeeery hopefull.
Have a nice day, Mike
