Today I was looking through a music-based pawnshop in Vancouver WA
(next to Portland OR) and I found a perfect condition emulator 1
being sold for 279$ There's only 500 of these on earth and somehow
one popped up in suburban portland. I was wondering what anybody
else thinks of this, and if they would buy it or blow it off. It
doesn't really seem all that useful of a machine to me, but I think
it would be kinda cool to own.

I would say unless you are a collector type, blow it
off. You might as well buy one of those cheap casio
toy samplers, unless it has the Genmod which adds real
filtering with resonance to it.

My $.02,

Hi,
The EI is more for collectors unless you like grungy bass, mellotrons and
voices. You get 4 or 8 voices and 2 sets of 2 seconds of sample time. The EI
would be fun to use if it has a collection of samples diskettes with it, but
if there are none or just a few in bad condition its nearly worthless.

Check it out very carefully if you do decide to buy one as repairs will be
impossible.
