Just some notes of happiness.

Just some notes of happiness.

2008-01-23 by Kenneth Abildgaard

I have always wanted an Emulator II.

At least ever since I saw it in a shop in 1985-86 here in Denmark.

I've had numerous samples over the years and still have three Emax samplers,
but I finally got my hands on an EII+ a while ago.

Now that I've actually had the chance - and opportunity - to load some old
floppies into it I just CAN'T believe how good it sounds.

I am honestly in a bit of chock.

It is by far the best sounding sampler I've ever used - with a HUGE
personality.

I am really impressed how good samples someone using 8bit and 512kb of
memory could make back then when truncating and looping were a part of our
daily battles J.

That's all I wanted to say - thanks for reading J

Yeah that's right.

I think all of us share that excitement.
Kind of funny - there seem to be a lot of people that made their
Lifetime wish for the EII come true in the recent past (probably
because it's becoming quite affordable these days).
I've been using the wonderful emax machine since 1990 when I was
fifteen. I pretty soon became E-Mu fanatic and bought a second Emax. I
was luckily enough to spot an old Emulator I (ser.No. 001 B!) and
bought it immediately, just as a collectors Item. That was all in the
nineties.. As I returned to making music last year, after some
absence, I took the chance and expanded my vintage E-Mu collection: 2x
EII (rev0 and rev1)and that Monster EIII Keyboard. I like the EII
most, because it's library is just incredible - you can do whatever
you want to - create whatever is in your head - with a wonderful
warmth in its sound. I like that feeling of reverence each time I play
with it. That thing is legend to me!

Greetz,
Elm!
