Gigging with EII+

Gigging with EII+

2007-11-19 by Simon_Owen

Hi Everyone

I'm going to be doing my very first gig in a couple of weeks and i'm thinking about taking the
EII+ (No HD) out with me. I'd like to do this for a few reasons really, one being that the music
that we're doing has a very 80's influence (think mid 80's Pet shop boys) to it and also, it's an
iconic looking bit of kit, it has a very high impact visually, and i'm a bit of a showoff!

Can anyone give me advice on whether taking it out live would be wise, if anyone's had any
problems with reliability after transporting it, anything really.

I just don't want to pop my gig cherry with the EII going bang on stage.

Thanks

Simon

Make sure you use a quality road case and put two "scrap" disks in the
drives during transport.

I would be most worried about the power supply failing. Make sure the
power is good at the venue before powering up, and if possible use a
decent rack mount power conditioner.

Have a great gig!

Hi Simon,
i follow this discussions and it is really fun and helpfull. I have
bought an Emulator II+HD wich works perfectely and i am very proud and
also i'm wondering that finally, i can have it. I an living in Norway,
actually i am a singer at the Norwegian Opera like tenor but my first
love is ,, the synth'', and the music produced with it. I don't have
any samples now, but i hope that i will find a way to get some... i
don't know how, but first, is important that this dream came true. THE
EII. I had an Korg triton LE and i sold it because the sound was too
... not fat !!! not like this emulators. I will keep this beast + i
have an emulator proteus mps keyb. It's sounds really nice, i heard a
lot of it's sounds used by Paul Hardcastle, Depeche mode, etc... that
will work perfect via midi -i think- with the EII. I have pictures
with the eII. :-) Have fun ! The best regards, Mike, Oslo, Norway.
