I'm getting predictable crackling in longer samples, or just crackling
in the higher numbered voices, and I suspect it's a dram problem. 
Anyone know a good source for replacement chips?  I have a very early
EII, serial #54, if that helps any...

Hi Brent,

I would suggest opening up your machine and reading all the codes printed on the 
memory chips in the array on the bottom right section of the digital board.  My E2 is a late 
serial number so unfortunately I don't know the numbers on the 64K chip configuration, 
otherwise I would just tell you, but anyway, if you Google each line of printing on those 
chips, you may find a place to buy them.

Recently, I was lucky to find a lot of the exact same DRAM chips I need for my later rev. E2 
from an ebay seller in Bulgaria for $7.  Interestingly, with the help of a friend I later 
deduced by the coding that the ebay chips I purchased were manufactured just one week 
after the ones in my machine...

I'm still waiting for the package (three weeks and counting) so I don't yet know if this will 
solve my own intermittent loud glitch sound problem like the one you've described, but I 
plan on sharing my experience with the group for the record when I find out.
