Just an update, got the floppy drive to work, had to "tap" on the case a bit, there was something stuck inside.  It seems fine now, will still probably try to source a backup drive.  MASOS, no MASOS, it doesn't seem to matter, it seems to happily load all Mirage samples, yah!  The Mirage samples upconverted to 12-bit sound awesome, maybe somewhere in the SP-1200 ballpark, very nice, colorful, but not nasty, bordering on unusable, like in the Mirage.  Love it!
