RE: [emulatorII-list] Cloning an emulator II ..

2011-09-12 by Adrien

That’s right, 10 seconds before your email, i decided to remove it from ebay, i was stupid to sel lit, just for my need of money, there are other ways … and mine was used on some 80’ hits , so that’s one more reason. Or I would regret it. Now I’ll have to take care of it, to make it last forever lol, but problems are difficult to debug, it’s not like a fuzz circuit ! ^^

But I’m still interested to know the character of the emax, compared to the emu II …

You can't replace the EII sound.
Oh, you can with a Synclavier PSMT. You could sample and get a close version.

Thanks, in fact i have no idea ! ; ) between the emax I and II, and compared to the emulator II, I was wondering what would be the best replacement, and if any of these has the same magic when sampling with it, just like with the emulator II, in the character of the sound.

Since the emax ( 1 or 2, I don’t know if they were made in the same purpose ) were supposed to emulate the emulator II R30; is it convincing ? or will I loose too much , by selling my emu II and get an emax ?

I’m afraid of the answer lol …

The Emax I and Emax II are pretty different. Which are you referring to?

Please, as i never played an emax 230; could someone tell me some feedbacks on this one, compared to an EMU II ? good ? not as good ?

If a rack version of I don’t know which version of the emax will be the same as having a real emulator II, I could go for it. Is it the same magic when you sample something with an emax ?

I read that it uses an E-Chip , ( no SSM 2045 inside, right ? ) and the emax was supposed to emulate the emulator II. Is it right ? is it good ? ; )

Thanks,

Adrien

Ps, I’ve listed all the chips of the emulator II, and I’d be totaly crazy if I would continue this project to clone the emu II !!! lol

The best would be to be able to transform a dpx-1 into a controllable sampler but … I would be crazy too.
