Thanks for your response Hex.  

Yesterday I did some further troubleshooting and it turns out that the Mac won't boot even when the CD-Drive is NOT attached on the other end of the SCSI cable. But when I plugged in my Zip drive SCSI cable it will boot wether zip drive is attached or not. This tells me somehow that my CN50 to DB25 SCSI cable must be somehow messed up?

Would you agree or am I missing something?

Double check your cables (including those inside your external SCSI CD enclosure), try another terminator, confirm with another external SCSI drive (Hard Disk, CD-Rom, Zip, Jaz, Syjet, etc). Best IDs to try blind are 4,5,6.
