You mean the navy blue on black background? I think I saw that combination on Ebay. I was referring to the white letters on blue background. (very common.. A little too trendy actually).
Remember, all the 16x2 LCD's on Ebay are all 80x36's, and only one is 84x44 that I saw, and then when I click on the picture is says 80x36mm. So I think the 84x44 is a really uncommon size, and that's why the Crystal Fontz wants 2 months to make them. They do have the white on black background versions. I bought one of those for another project.
Does anyone want that combo? Because they have 7 of those in stock. (84x44) which is the same as the green one I posted. Only one side will fit with the 80x36, and you will have to glue or silicon the other side in my tech said. Does one want to do this? I don't know. It seems to be working for the SP1200's. But as Bruce said, that's the only way it will work. But a 84x44 does not have to be glued in on an EII.
Remember my tech put in a pot to adjust the output of the backlight. You may or may not want to do this with yours. The reason why is because my guinea pig EII is having power supply issues, and he felt it was a good idea to be able to control the output.
