update regarding the Crystal Fontz LCD in the EII from my tech...

"Mixed results tonight. I have the new LCD
physically in. It required 0.125" standoffs and new bolts, but otherwise it fit
fine. I added a new cable and connectors and contrast pot. It comes up OK, but
it starts to get gibberish after a few seconds. I've seen this before. Normally
as a result of new LCDs being susceptible to noise that the old ones would
ignore. I haven't got the back light going yet. I won't be able to play
with it again until the weekend."

Forat told me about the gibberish thing today on the phone. He said he ran into the same problem with the SP1200 when trying to track down the right LCD for his signature mod. My tech on the EII project is not Bruce by the way. There is only one Bruce, and having more than one machine done at a time saves me time, but not very kind on the wallet. I talked Bruce into doing a different LCD in this 1200 this time. It's gonna be sick. White letters on the black LCD. I hope it works. With Bruce you're paying for all the jumping that he has to do, and he definately knows his shit. But things aren't looking good for the EII right now. I'm glad I didn't try it on the EII+.

We will see what happens. I'm curious if Roginator's $5 Ebay units will work in the EII.
Wouldn't that be nice. Any luck, Roger?
