Re: EII LCD Display

2010-10-18 by jmp701

Thanks for the responses but they're out of stock at EPR:

http://www.eprelectronics.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=49

I've already replaced the backlight and was looking to replace just the LCD module (screen and PCB attached) as the characters are fading.

I've now found some exact size (PCB and viewing area) new LCD modules, one supplied with a backlight, the others without. 16/2 lines and 5V voltage is the same but wouldn't know otherwise if compatible.... Does anyone know if LCD's supplied without backlights can be fitted with them (i.e. with the one I have currently) or do they generally not have the facility to insert a backlight if not originally supplied with one?

The two I'm looking at are Trident Trimods1538STNLEDTFV (with backlight) or maybe AZ Displays ACM1602A Series (think this one is Sharp manufactured) without backlight.

Cheers.
