Re: [emulatorII-list] No output from 3rd channel

2010-03-31 by Mike de Vries

My first bit of advice would be to re-seat all the IC's on the main board.
Do Not pull them out..
First, with a very fine screwdriver, gently pry each side of the IC up a few mm. Then Press the whole IC back into it's IC mount.
- Repeat, untill ALL IC's have been done.
(This cleans the contacts between the IC and it's Socket)
My EII had a unreliable voice, and this solved it.
If this does not work.. then.
You could start by swapping IC's from the dead voice (3)to another voice.
I'd start with the VCF.
If the prob goes to another voice, then you've found the problem.
Don't do any of these things with the EII Powered up or even plugged in. (Safety!)

I know this topic has been touched on before, but I couldn't find any conclusive info on a fix. I have a plain EII that either has a dead voice or channel not sure how to distiguish the two? Basically if I go into special fucntions and disable channel 3 the EII is playable. With channel three on, every 8th note played in succession is silent. Does that mean I have a dead voice or channel? How should I proceed? trace everyhting in the signal path to channel 3? Any hints on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
