Your OS is the HardDisk version, intended for the EII+ HD. I don't have a HD so I don't know if this OS version is OK for non-HD Emulators also (with two floppy drives). (Is this OS loaded from a floppy ??) Anyway, the OS version should be OK for RS422 support between EII and Mac. Anything above OS 2.3 and EPROMS 2.1 or 2.2HD should be fine. Just check if your EII has an RS422 compatible board. Either a rev1 main board or a rev0 with piggyback RS422 additional board plugged in it will do fine. For buying a Mac: see compatibility list on this group. A Mac SE or Classic is the safest choice. OS 7.5.3 is recommended, but 6 is usable too. For the cable: you can make it yourself, it's very easy. But you can also buy it. Includes both the Ell MAIN ROM ver 2.1 and the Ell SCANNER ROM ver 3.1. We also have the new Emulator ll floppy drive 3.5 replacement kit in stock and shipping now. Without a working drive an Emulator II is effectively useless, replace that failed 5.25" floppy drive now and upgrade to a new 2008 3.5 drive to protect and ensure you will be able to read your valuable sample library. > > any info will be a massive help . > Mick. >
