When you play the audio back, and turn it up heaps, how does it sound? (Thin / dull / distorted etc)
 
Hopefully it's a dry joint or a dud op-amp..
 
When you are in the "Sample" page, and playing a sound into it, does the sound come back out the EII at normal (Non distorted etc) volume?

Mike,

Thanks for the response. I'm aware of the gain settings on page 3 and tried various settings from 0 to 40db. I also metered the input audio close to max, just a bit under the clipping point. 

What's next?
