Hi Rob, It sounds like the same problem I had with mine. Mine played the faulty channel back very low in volume and distorted. I also had tried everything you did so far without any results. Swapped/ reseated chips on both - analog and digital boards. At some point I gave up and brought it to a tech. It turned out to be an open circuit due to a bad solder joint on a chip. I don't know how tech savvy you are, but if you search the posted messages for "Dead Voice" you will see my posts and all the helpful tips I received from the wonderful people in this forum. There might be some useful info in there for you. Like Mike already said, be super careful when working on the EII as the power supply holds lethal charges even long after being unplugged. If in doubt bring it to a tech. Where are you located? Maybe I can link you up with my tech...
