Re: [emulatorII-list] Faulty voice on a EII+HD, need help

2009-07-20 by Mike de Vries

Sheesh... whats with the 8 posts?

First thing I'd try is to "re-seat" the IC's.. this involves 'gently' slightly removing the IC's (With a small screw driver prying each end of the IC).. then pushing them back in.
Don't completely take out the IC's, just move them out about 1mm, then push them back in.

Your fault could be the result of a poor connection between the IC and it's mount.. (It seems EII's are notorious for this... it happened to mine)

If this does not fix the fault, it could be the result of a faulty op-amp etc.. hard to know exactly, so a tech might be needed.

Be careful, inside the EII are lethal voltages, so make sure it is unplugged when you are working on it.

Hi, I own a EII+HD. When i turned it on today every 8th keypress it did not make a sound. Now it plays the sample but it sounds very distorted on the same voice.
I checked from the seperate outputs and found output 1 is faulty, the other outputs/voices are ok.
I swapped over the SSM2045 & S3528 from a good channel, but output 1 is still distorted. Therefore it is not those IC's.
Can anyone please help, not sure what to check next.
thanks
