Hi all,

I'm so excited I just got my Emulator II a couple days ago. I grew up 
with an Ensoniq Mirage in the 80's and have wanted one of these since 
then!

Anyway, I know there's a lot of things I need to learn here and I'd 
love some direction as to where to start.

First, my software revision comes up as 2.3 and my serial number is 
1075 (model 6028.)

I have two 5.25" drives, but the previous owner said something about 
them being different "versions" and if I put one (wrong) version of 
the diskette in the top drive, it would simply ERASE it. OMG! That 
sounds just great. LOL!

Anyway, I guess that's my first issue. I'd like to figure out what 
this "disk drive version" thing is all about so I'm not erasing disks.

Next I'd suppose I'd like to find out about Sound Designer and where 
to look for that and the additional required hardware.

Just in quick browsing I'm seeing the discussion of a project that 
might involve adding a new storage interface to facilitate modern 
memory storage devices (i.e. SD cards?) I was curious about 
installing a hard disk into my EII but maybe I should reconsider and 
explore this more modern option if it's likely to come together.

I apologize for my complete and utter lack of knowledge of what I've 
got here. I hope to learn quickly and get involved.
