Mike,
Same here in regards to the E1, love that beast of a sampler. I've got spare 400L drives if you need something to experiment with:)

I've been thinking about hacking the emulator disk drive, and seeing
if it can be replaced by a flash drive. (Still keeping the original
drive)
Possibly with a small LCD screen to name patches & and encoder &
buttons to scroll through them all etc. A switch would change between
the original drive & the flash drive.
This way, I could slowly take images of my disks, and archive them on
the emulator for recall, possible with faster load & save time.. and
not have to worry about floppy disks for this old and lovely sampler.
This could also mean that all us Emu1 users could download patches
etc very easily.
This might take a long time to investigate & implement.. If I did
this.. who out there would be interested in doing this to their
Emulator I ? (Not the Emu-II)
How much would you be prepared to pay? Less than $300? It would be a
kit that should be easy to install.
I honestly get so much joy out of playing the Emulator I, and I've
replaced the drive on mine.. but am worried about the long term
survival of it.
Regards
Mike
