Does it receive any MIDI while you try ?

Or let me put it this way – try to unplug any MIDI cables if you have any
connected.

The EII does NOT like MIDI and Serial communication at the same time J

Hi Group, I Been having problems getting the eii and mac se to talk to
each other. the set up is as follows.
Mac se running system 7 or 7.1 I am a little unsure. EII+ system 2.3
and 3.1 but I think this machine was upgraded as it does not have the
plus on the back.
Sound Designer For EII and the cable.
Now This is a little strange as on occasion the setup works and I can
send banks back and forth between the EII and Mac, But Most of the
time when I go to send a bank the drive clicks it starts, then hangs
for a few seconds and then trys to send the bank. After a couple of
secs I get the error message I cant communicate with the eII. I have
used both modem and printer ports on the mac. its random which one works.
Please can anyone shed any light on the problem.
