My E1 was dead when I got it.. the owner said "Smoke came out of the front panel"
It was a fried tantalum cap near the record section.

Hi Kenneth
Same fuseholder and same fuse will be ok.
The constant noise from the power supply is because its one of the worst
ever designed....
It is truely awful with parts under huge stress and no care over the audio
power, or in fact the digital power.
No protection either, so when it fails it causes a fire in the front panel
boards...
I have a couple to restore for a client, but to be honest its junk. It needs
a totally new design.
If the noise is 50/60Hz check if its the transformer windings humming...if
so you need to replace the transformers.

Does anyone know if it's the same fuse type that's used in the Emulator
II as in the original Emulator ?
When I got my Emulator it came with no fuse holder and fuse - and so
far it's been working with a fuse similar to the one used in my
Emulator II.
But I wonder if it could have any influence on the constant noise
coming from the power supply on my Emulator ?
Does anyone know ?
Thanks;
