Re: SV: [emulatorII-list] emu emulator II + from ebay DOA--help!

Is there a way to find replacement 5.25" drives that work? If not, and I use the route 66 studios 3.5" replacement discs, how do i get the data from the 5.25" discs that came with this into the synth? Does route 66 studios sell os systems discs on the 3.5" format as well? Sorry for all the basic questions. I'm just learning about all this.

There are no sounds in an Emulator when you first turn it on and you have to
load a floppy containing the Operating System and some samples in order to
hear anything (or sample something yourself after the OS load).

So I guess you have to start out by getting a replacement 5.25” floppy drive
or the 3.5” floppy drive from Route66 Studios.

It’s perfectly normal that it reads ‘Emulator II boot in progress’ when you
turn it on, but it is waiting for a floppy.

hello. I bought a used emulator II+ from ebay. The seller represented
that it worked fine but that the disc drives didn't work. It arrived
today. After turning it on, the lights all flash, and then the only
thing on is the LED display which reads "emulator II boot in process"
and then just stays displaying that. No sounds come out. Any idea
what the problem could be? Is this something fixable? I will take it
to my vintage synth shop to check it out. As an aside, they had
another customer some time back who brought in an emulator II for
repairs. It turned out that it needed a new main board and since they
couldn't get that part, couldn't finish the repair. Just assuming my
synth needed a main board also, does anyone here know of a source where
I could buy such a part?

Thanks in advance for any help. I really wanted this great synth and
hope it can be fixed.
