Hello Fnord, I think, that you are basically right. And for some users it will be the best way to buy this diskdrive from route66. But some guys didn`t have the money or/and are technically trained to find a much cheaper way. With a little bit of luck you can find a working drive and the adapter for a few bucks. For this reason I have created the table in the database-section. Momentarily I didn`t need a new drive for my EII. But I have looked forward, because sometimes the time will come, where I need a new one, so I have looked for it. And for the same amount of money, you have to pay at route 66, you can get a working Oberheim DPX1. This little machine has an 5 1/4" and an 3 1/2" diskdrive, which both are also working with the EII. So I just want to say, that route66 is not the only way to get a working disk-drive. It`s a good way, but by far not the cheapest. And there is no question: It is very important for all of us EII- users, to have these guys from emulatorarchive and route66 and all the others who are helping to keep the EII alive.
