There are probably multiple ways to solve this problem. If you want to solve it in a "PC" way instead of a native "Mac" way, here's a hint: I only use my Mac (Classic) for RS422 communication with the EII, so it doesn't have a CD-ROM either. It does have however a 1.44 floppy drive and a SCSI ZIP drive attached to it. If you have a 1.44 drive in the Mac, you can copy the EII banks from the CD to a Mac floppy on your PC, and then load the floppy disk in your Mac. You can use MacDisk for Windows for that purpose. The trialversion is free for download on http://www.macdisk.com/mden.php3. This free version is limited in the supported filesizes (1MB), but fortunately the EII files are < 1MB so you can use it as a longterm solution :-) By the way this software is also able to copy the files to ZIP disks. Just one important note: if you use MacDisk, make sure the filetype properties are set correctly before using it with EII files. You should use the Options->Signature Editor in MacDisk, in order to make sure that - Mac Files with filetype E2BK and creator XFER are translated to MS DOS extension .EII - Windows files with extension .EII are translated to filetype E2BK and creator XFER. Don't forget to save the signature file ! Hope this helps ! ///E-Synthesist --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "Kenneth Abildgaard" <kenneth@...> wrote: > > Hi guys. > > > > I am pretty new to all this (not to computers and samplers, but to an > Emulator II+ running on a Macintosh Classic that is J) and I have a question > (read: problem). > > > > I got a CD-ROM containing some EII banks and I have two Mac computers for > this purpose. > > > > 1. > > An old Macintosh Classic that I intend to use to transfer and edit sounds to > and from my Emulator II+ - running MacOS 7.0.1. and Sound Designer for EII. > It works like a charm.
