Hi Martin! I had kind of the same problems... My CD Rom drive wasn't recognized by my mac neither, so I had to find a workaround to get the banks on cd rom into my mac (SE) and from there (Sound Designer) to the EII. I have OS 6.07. What I did was to copy all the banks from cd rom to some Zip disks. I did this with a modern first generation mac book pro. The zip disks were first formatted on my old school mac SE. The powerbook had no problems to recognize the old school formatted zip disks. After copying all the banks, I could easily read them on my mac SE, because the zip drive works perfectly with it. Of course it would have been much more comfortable if the CD Rom worked fine, but as you have the same problem, CD rom devices seem to cause Problems with those old apple computers. I don't even think that the driver is the point, because via scsi there should (normally) be no problem. I hope that this helps you. Greetings, Elm.
