@ Marko: Thanks, but the symptom isn´t right. The drives don´t click.
It´s the problem that there aren't any service centers in Germany or
the two service centers for E-MU have refused the acceptance. It was
said - as a reason - that the EII is too old.:-(

@ Mike: Thanks, I also think that could matter the power supply. I´m
not an electrician, however, repair PCs from time to time. What I have
noticed still, when switching on slowly the EII I hear such a electric
break with crackling of the power supply. Hope that you know, what I
mean …

@ Rob: Thanks, but how I can check the 5 V rails? Could a normal
electronics technician also repair this?

The only what I have done till now was the advices from "esynthesist".
