Subject: [emulatorII-list] Emulator II supported by EMXP v2.03

  Hi all

I finally managed to add some Emulator II support to the free EMXP
  software.

Currently only some basic functions are available.
The most important and interesting ones are:
  - conversion of samples from any Emulator II bankfile (*) to WAV
  - conversion of WAV files to a new Emulator II bank file (*)
(*) = SoundDesigner for EmuII bank file (sized 475Kb)

Since Emulator II floppy disks can not be read/written by PC's and
(currently) no PC software can communicate with the Emulator II via
RS422, you'll still need a Mac with Sound Designer to upload/download
  bankfiles to/from the Emulator II.
So you will also have to exchange these SDII files between the Mac
and your Windows XP in order to process them with EMXP.
Fortunately this is quite easy. E.g. I use a trial version of MacDisk
and ZIP-disks and this works fine and fast.

The software can be found here (as always for free):
  http://users.skynet.be/emxp

If you've never used EMXP before, I should warn you that it is not "a
  typical Windows application".
The user-interface is menu-driven but with a plain old DOS look and
feel. Once you get used to it, it's actually quite simple and fast in
  use.
More information can be found in the manual which is included in the
  package.

If you don't want to read the whole manual, simply jump to page 17
for a quick start. Installing EMXP for use with Emulator II is easy:
copy the EMXPN.EXE file from the zip package to a dedicated folder on
your PC's harddrive and start the application :-)

More features, including conversion between Emulator II and
Emax/Akai/Emulator III will be added in the future.

I hope the software is useful for some of you.

  Have fun !
