Hi Heiko
I've disassembled my EII to see the 3.5" floppy drive info.
The drive is an IBM drive with the this sparesome info: P/N-1619655 L1YF0151752.
The drive has a jumper section on the back and the jumper is set to ID 1 (Lower drive bay).
To convert the data cable from the old 5.25" drive to the 3.5" I have a connector plate that is insertet in the female 5.25" drive cable and into an identical female connector. The identical female connector has a usual 3.5" connector at the other end of it's cable.
I have a typical power cable converter from the usual HD/CD power connector to the 3.5" floppy power connector. This cable can be bought in any computer shop.
I've taken some photos with my phone but haven't got the possibility to transer the photos to the computer. But I'll work on that and upload the photos to the photo section of this group.
I think that if you can find a 3.5" drive with a jumper block where you can change the ID number from 0 to 1, then there's some and maybe a good chance that the drive will work in the EII.
I hope this information helps you :-)
Best regards
Brian

Hello Brian,
thank you so much. That would be a great job. Maybe you have the
possibility to make some pictures of the drive and the cable?!
Please upload them to the Photos-section.
Thank you so much for your help.
Best regards
Heiko
