Ok, I understand your point. Besides: the uncompatibility list would be much longer than the compatibility list :-) So we should stick to a compatible list only, that's already great ! The only side-remark I have with this compatibility list is that the same setup of user X sometimes does not work with user Y. Example: I have two EII+ samplers and 5 macs. The only configuration which really is reliable is the Mac Classic + EII. The powerbook 180c sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't. I also have a PB 520c and 5300 of which was also being said that they were compatible with EII. Indeed, some users have no problems whatsoever with those, while others (like me) can't get them into communication with the EII (no matter if I put the EII in Mac mode manually and/or enable/disable AppleTalk) Nevertheless I'm pretty sure these Powerbooks will find their way into our compatibility database... What I want to say is: this database is great and for sure it will help al lot of people. But everyone should be aware that even the setups on the list do NOT guarantee 100% compatibility. Except for the Mac Classic that is :-) Conclusion: besides the Mac Classic I have the impression that a "compatible Mac/EII" setup is a kind of statistical issue really, not really a black and white fact. Anyway: it's a great initiative and I've added my setups to the database. PS: how do I change my records in the database ? I forgot to mention that AppleTalk must be ON on the powerbook 180c... ///E-Synthesist --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "hexafuzz" <gclip@...> wrote: > > > Should we also give examples of setups that definitely DON'T work ? > > That might be useful too...
