MD,MnM and QY700

MD,MnM and QY700

2004-07-13 by Eddie Higginson

Alright guys, was wondering if anybody can shed any light on this for me.
I have a Yamaha QY700 and as I just got rid of my computer I needed to use
it to back up the data in my MnM, but when I plug either the MnM or MD into
either of the 2 MIDI inputs the QY freezes, and none of the buttons works
until the MIDI lead to the MnM/MD is pulled out!

What the HELL is going on??!!!

wild guess: try not exporting MIDI clock from either machine

Thanks for that mate I'll try it but I wanted to use the MD as sync master
because of its very stable clock. I seem to remember I used to have it set
up so the QY was plugged directly to the MD but I can't remember how the
rest of my stuff was set up... There is probably some random setting in the
QY which is mixing the MIDI messages or causing a sync loop or something,
and if I can't sort it out quickly I may be forced to throw the QY700 down
the stairs!

Cheers -Eddie

well, I just meant that turning off clock send during the Sysex
transmissions might help.
