sticky pattern selection

2004-03-09 by todd_leben

The other day I noticed that my Machine Drum had version OS 1.11. I
downloaded the 1.12b update and was reading through the text file of
changes. One thing in particular caught my eye ("One hand pattern switching
by sticky pattern selection button.") and I'm wondering how this effects the
"live" performance of the MD.

In my case, I like to open the Mute window, then adjust a knob -- which
shrinks the Mute window. Then -- as I am performing -- I can change patterns
with the Mute window still active.

So, how does the sticky patterns selection button work? Are there problems if
the Mute window is minimized? Personally, I like having to hold down one of
the Letter buttons and the desired pattern, because I don't inadvertently mute/
un-mute a track.

Cheers,

press the bank key and release it, the bank window will stay up for
three seconds (I think it's three) and a little bar will start
decreasing in the window (as your time runs out). press a pattern key
while this window is still active and that pattern will play next.

nope.

you can still do this if you want, the sticky thing's just an option that's
there. in fact, I hardly ever use it myself. but give it a try, you might like
it!

Much obliged for the info.

Shudda' figured Elektron would make the feature functional and playable.
