suggestion for next MD O.S.

suggestion for next MD O.S.

2004-01-26 by Rui Peixoto

Hi!

I know there has been much debate about the new features that should be
implemented in the next machinedrum OS. I\ufffdd like to suggest the
incorporation of new GND machines. More specifically 2 new machines with
pulse (with PWM if possible) and saw waveforms. I guess these wouldn\ufffdt take
up much memory since these waveforms are already used as LFO modulators and
they would increase the sound possibilities of the MD a lot. Another one
would be some sort of color knob for the noise machine. What do you guys
think of this? Is this doable or am I asking too much?

Rui

It would chew away at Monomachine SPS-60 sales for some folks.

OR! It would get people to trade up to having both...

Not to say I wouldn't love it. The more you can jam into a MD or a MnM
the better.

Sure Thing !

I think this is the best thing to do with the 0.1% left of
Machinedrum´s OS ;)

This would allow to build melodic sounds, and would enhance MD a lot
in my opinion!

I´m with you on this mate ;)

good suggestions! it would be nice if their pitch were also indicated
instead of just a numeric 0-127 value. but either way would be fine with
me :-)

my only gripe: I don't care if leave everything else in the MD alone, as
long as they fix the damn song sequencing problem. it's been mentioned in
here several times before, but if you change between song and pattern mode
a couple of times, the song sequencer will then refuse to let you change
track mutes and you have to restart the MD! this is quite frustrating when
you're trying to write even moderately something complex, as you may end
up restarting the machine ten times within an hour's time frame (as I
have).

ok, gripe mode off...

Joe,

the next time that happens check were your 'SCALE SETUP' button is, if it's on 1 or 2,
if it's on 2 then you can't mute, switch it to 1 and then it'll work

YES! YES! YES! all kinds of bellyaching and grumbling on my part is
finally over! thanks so much for the workaround; I'm quite surprised
that I never tried it. and I've heard this problem mentioned in here
several times, so apparently nobody else did either.

BUT Elektron still needs to repair this bug.

Thanks again!
Joe

p.s. I checked the MnM on this as well. I've never seen this bug in it
at all. But pressing SCALE SETUP makes any visible mutes (when looking
at a song row) disappear and they won't reappear until you exit the
mute window and re-open it.

Wow, I never noticed this. I have to make sure I know what's
happening from now on. I have also almost freaked out when I send
machines to different outs put on the headphones and wonder why I
can't hear those sounds.

Move to quarantaine
