Elektron Musical Instruments

Hi all,

yesterday I was programming my MD, accidentally hit the song mode 
button, and then it froze. Nothing worked. I turned it off, turned it 
on again, but it stopped on the page that shows which OS you're using 
(0.96B in my case). Each time I turn it on, this page is how far it 
gets.

I tried to turn it on while holding the function button, to get the 
"utility" page, and this works. I then tried the Self Test function, 
and it says the DSP is ok, but it freezes when doing the function 
test. 

ARRRRGGHH!

I have contacted the Elektron team, but probably won't get an answer 
until Monday. I thought I might try to load the OS again, but won't 
be able to do this before tomorrow evening, as I need to borrow 
someone else's PC.

Any suggestions to what I might do? 
This is the first DSP-based instrument I own. Is this a common 
problem in such instruments?

Hi to all, I'm new of this group.I've purchased a MD a week ago and 
it seems not working properly. First thing, i've to power up the box 
twice, 'cos the first time it freeze. I've to shut down and reboot 
again, and when i slave the device in midi sync mode (I use Logic on 
Mac with unitor 8)when I change the pattern sometimes stops playing 
and the lights on the surface appears randomly (HORRYBLE MODE!!)
I've to shut up again. Anyone could help me?

P.S. i've OS 1.1 installed from the factory.

Hi Daniele,

about the freeze problem: I had this problem with an earlier OS 
(0.97), and had to do an EMPTY RESET (deleting all of the MD's 
memory). My advice is; try a SOFT RESET first, then, if that doesn't 
help, contact the Elektron crew, they might advise you to do an 
empty/factory reset. Remember that this deletes all your patterns, 
kits++. 
How do you access the reset modes? Turn the MD on while holding down 
the FUNCTION button.
