Anybodu else having problems using TM-1 together with more midi interfaces and/or Cubase?

2006-10-29 by rydan

Hello!

Running PC with Cubase 4 here. Apart from the TM-1, I have a Midex8 and a
Midisport 2x2 (only for keeping the NordModular editor trafic off the
Midex8...).

After a cold boot/restart of my computer, the C6 utility will more often
than not select the wrong midi port, so I usually have to configure that
again, and restart the C6 utility for it to work. That doesn't seem to
happen when I use the Midex8 for connectiong to the MD.

Cubase, on the other hand seem to be able to keep track of which interface
is the TM-1. However, sometimes during start of Cubase, or during playback,
cubase just freezes, until I unplug the TM-1, then everything goes straight
back to normal (happends both during startup, shutdown and sometimes during
playback in Cubase 4, and during startup in SX3).

Also, with TM-1, having cubase running and using C6 at the same time doesn't
work (since the windows driver doesn't allow multiple apps to use the same
port simultaneously). This works just fine with the Midex8.

All in all, I have just decided to disconnect the TM-1, and go back to
having the MD connected to the Midex8. The very quick dumps adn sample loads
were great, but all in all, with the problems I'm having, it's not worth
it...

Anybody else with similar setups experiencing similar problems?

Regards

/Patrik

why not use the "reset midi devices" within the midi tab in cubase..save you
unplugging the tm-1..I am the same with you about ditching the TM-1, as mine
has became unrecognisable and works from time to time..

Can't use reset. Cubase doesn't just stop, it freezes the entire
computer, completely, until I unplug the TM-1...
